SUCCESS STORIES

Wave
Our high school co-ops are amazing! They cover the front desk and are a ‘jack of all trades’ for us. Co-ops answer the main phone and transfer calls. They greet people entering the building and direct them. Co-ops work with our meal program, distributing menus, counting entrees and scanning residents to eat. They are very proficient on the computer.

Our seniors enjoy seeing the young people and interacting with them.
We love our high school co-ops!

Bill Gates worked, as a high school junior in Washington DC, as a page which convinced him that he did not want to be in politics. Mary Barra, General Motors CEO, began as an intern, as an 18 year old on the factory floor. She laddered her way to plant manager, executive engineer, and head of human resources before becoming the first woman to lead General Motors. Steven Spielberg began an unofficial internship with Universal Studios when, at 17, he snuck onto the studio lot and networked with directors and created a short film that impressed Universals who offered him a contract. Tom Hanks interned for the Great Lakes Theater Festival in Cleveland. He obtained confidence and experience then obtained a three-year position which jump-started his career.
